VIDEO SUMMARY: Regeneration Shakespeare

This video talks about Shakespeare, more exactly that 2016 was marked the 400 anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death.  But more than simply celebrating the past this anniversary was about attracting a new audience for the future.

Moreover, Hip-hop Shakespeare Company was using the art from to bridge the gap from high culture to street culture. One of the interviewed person say that he knew that a huge percentage of the world’s young population are exposed to Shakespeare some point in their schools education. This Hip-hop Company took out a lot of workshops and performances around 2016. It is said that is about demystifying Shakespeare.


All in all, things live because they maintain relevance and maintain a connection to people's lives, and they want to maintain this connection with Shakespeare.


ESSAY 6: DIALOGUE

Last Saturday I met Laia in the bus station, I hadn’t seen her for 10 years…

JUDIT: Oh my god Laia! It’s been such a long time!

LAIA: Judit? Oh, It’s a great surprise! Look at you, you’re exactly the same as you were 10 years ago…

JUDIT: What are you doing? What’s about your life? Did you come back from the USA?

LAIA: Yes, er… but I spend here only a few weeks. I came to visit my grandparents and old friends.

JUDIT: That’s fantastic! And what about your life in the USA? Any new story to explain?

LAIA: I’m really happy! The USA are a very beautiful country to live in. I’m very lucky!

JUDIT: You study medicine, don’t you?

LAIA: Oh, yes, when I arrived in the USA I entered the NY University, the most important University in the USA and I began to study medicine. Now, I’m in my third course, I have a lot of work but I love medicine and I think I may be an excellent doctor!

JUDIT: I don’t have any doubt about it! I remind went to school and we played with the other classmates, you always wanted to be the doctor. I have really good memories of those times…

LAIA: Me too!

JUDIT: I’m very happy to meet you! We can meet another day and talk about our lives.

LAIA: It’s a good idea! See you soon Judit…

JUDIT: Goodbye Laia!
